Ready For 2024?

Updated: Feb 26

We are at the end of 2023 - which means it's time to reflect on the lessons learned and gear up for a successful 2024.

As your go-to communication expert, my mission is to guide you towards a year that exceeds expectations, helping you engage with your stakeholders, align your team and propel your mission.

To get you started, here are 2 strategies to prepare you for a great 2024:

1. Navigate Change Strategically

Change is inevitable, especially in the dynamic landscape of healthcare entrepreneurship. And, it tends to comes when we least expect it. To stay ahead of the curve, and prepare for what's ahead, follow this checklist to help you to build a change management plan BEFORE you need it.

✅ Who Identify the key players involved in any change. Whether prepping for a merger, managing a crisis or switching EMR vendors, change affects multiple stakeholders - all from different vantage points. Consider the options, map it out and ensure that in each situation, you know who to rely on for a smooth transition.

✅ What Communicate the purpose and impact of the change transparently, utilizing the Communication Trifecta of honesty, integrity, and discretion. Striking a balance between these three elements is NOT easy so be sure to pull in the right folks from step one to ensure the honest message will be well received.

✅ When Timing is critical. Communicate early, communicate often, and provide ongoing updates to ease your team through periods of uncertainty.

How Provide stakeholders with the resources they need to succeed. Utilize various messaging tactics to suit each stakeholder, ensuring a comprehensive and supportive approach. Examples include a FAQ, town hall, emails, webinars, break room posters, and more.

2. Maximizing Stakeholder Engagement

The best way to engage the right stakeholders, is to ensure your language is on point. This is tough - especially in the middle of a crisis - so here's a check list to help you navigate.

✅ Develop a stakeholder map to understand your stakeholders If you already have one, make sure that your stakeholder list is still relevant - especially as it relates to the change. If you don't have one yet, create your own using our free stakeholder guide here.

✅ Craft messages that address your audience's needs and concerns Comb through your list of stakeholder-specific messaging considerations to make sure it's all accurate. If your company has changed, your stakeholders might need you to show up differently. Plus, their challenges may be different than you think so be sure the language you use to communicate with them reflects what they want to hear.

✅ Create a content strategy that resonates in the market The healthcare industry evolves rapidly and adjustments are necessary. Are you well versed in the communication styles of your audience? Are you custom to sending an email when your key decision makers are generally on the floor seeing patients?

✅ Adjust your go-to-market strategy based on lessons learned and market trends You could be just one fail away from success - so, be sure to evaluate what worked, what didn't and how you can communicate differently based on the past. The market is also evolving - and what worked yesterday may not work tomorrow. Take a look at the system as a whole to identify your strongest messaging options.

Remember, a robust communication strategy has the power to turn challenges into opportunities and complex ideas into simple solutions 💡.
